IBP CONEX FITTINGS SOLUTIONS SEAL AYLSEBURY SUPPORTIVE HOUSING PROJECT

January 2008
IBP Conex has won a £70k contract to supply fittings for the Aylsebury New Lodge project in Buckinghamshire. This project involves replacing bed and breakfast accommodation, originally built around 1980 for workers involved in the development of Aylesbury, with environmentally and ecologically sustainable supportive housing.
The Dorset-based contractor, Heating and Cooling Services, have specified IBPConex Delcop End Feed and Delbraze fittings in sizes 15 – 108mm. Conex Delcop End Feed capillary fittings are primarily designed for soft solder applications but, with the exception of union fittings with copper tails, may also be brazed. Conex Delbraze fittings also use the principle of capillary attraction to ensure that, when correctly jointed to copper tube, a sufficient layer of filler metal is present between tube and fitting to form a mechanically strong, leak-proof joint. They are also designed with a short cup, thus economising on filler metals.
Phase one of the Aylsebury New Lodge project began in February 2007 and phase two will follow during the first three months of 2008.
The IBP Conex Delcop End Feed and Delbraze fittings will be supplied by the Oxford branch of BSS.
